Speaking with OneWeb’s Cloud Security Architect Lead, Dr. Wendy Ng

We recently caught up with Dr Wendy Ng, OneWeb’s Cloud Security Architect Lead and subject matter expert, to discuss industry trends, her career journey and the need for more diversity within the technology industry. 

Dr Wendy’s career story is an extremely interesting one. With a PhD in Medical Genetics from Oxford University, Dr Wendy worked within lab research until the harsh conditions and practises of a lab environment forced her to leave scientific research behind and retrain in a new industry. It was then that Dr Wendy developed a passion for cyber security and has since held positions at Cisco, Deloitte, Experian and is now Cloud Security Architect Lead at OneWeb. 

Experiencing a career shift like this, Dr Wendy is an advocate for continuously learning and, in this interview, offers advice to those who are looking to shift careers or industries. Retraining and switching up careers takes a great deal of resilience and determination, but Dr Wendy’s journey is a fantastic example of how it is possible. 

Dr Wendy is extremely passionate about encouraging diversity and inclusion within the technology sector, especially for Asian Women. In this interview, she talks passionately about how organisations can nurture talent and encourage diversity within their teams.
